OID (.1.3.6...) – is an identifier of a variable, which will be set at on a remote device. There is a need to indicate a full OID in a numeric notation, starting from .1.3… A list of variables is in the MIB file of a device in a specific format or in a documentation of a device. To browse the MIB file conveniently in the form of a tree and check functions of variables, it is possible to use the freeware iReasoning MIB Browser or any other similar software. Status – several seconds after sending a request for setting a variable, a result «ОК» is displayed in the field «Status». This means that a confirmation is received, and a variable is successfully set. «Timeout» means that a confirmation is not received. This can happen because of unavailability of a controlled device, its failure, incorrect IP address, port or community. Other variants mean that a reponse response with an error code has been received, and its textual description is displayed in the status line.
