[DKSF 48.2 IU] Page IR COMMANDS web interface

An IR management module works with an IR transciever IRC-TR v2. A transceiver can record and reproduce IR signals of remote controls of home appliances.

IR Commands Recording Procedure

There is a need to prepare an IR remote control, from which you need to capture a command. Make sure that a red LED on the IR transceiver glows without blinking. There is a need to choose a number of a command and enter a text of a memo. Then click the button «Start recording». You have to give a command from an IR remote control during 30 seconds, otherwise a transceiver will switch to the standby mode. A remote control and a tranciever must be placed coaxially on the distance 10-30 cm in the way for an "eye" of a transceiver to see a transmitting IR LED of a remote control.

A command will be recorded. To check it, you have to click the button Play/Test. If a command is reproduced successfully, click the button «Save» to save the command in a nonvolatile memory.

Check the IR command operation once more, clicking a corresponding button «>» in the section of saved commands.

Sending (Reproducing) of IR Commands

To send a saved IR command click the button ">" in the section of saved commands near a name of the necessary command. A red LED on a transceiver must blow out for 0.5s, inducing reproducing of the command.

Important! Do not reproduce empty command cells, where are no correct IR commands recordings. This may cause a tranceiver to freeze.

Troubleshooting

If a transceiver became confused in a protocol as a result of an error, an interference, an operator's mistake or managing software failure and misreacts on received commands, a reset can be done by a short-term (5s) switching a transceiver off NetPing.

Avoid recording commands in electroluminescent or LED light. Light shimmering with frequency of electronic ballast operation can decrease a quality of a recorded IR signal.

Watch for not having any objects on a line in between an emitter of an IR remote control and a "eye" of a transceiver, particularly, operator's hands.

If a recorded command operates unreliably, change a place of a transceiver relatively to a controlled device; change conditions of recording a command.

Giving IR Commands via SNMP

Reproducing of IR commands can be performed via SNMP protocol. A necessary information is in a MIB file, corresponding to a used Netping firmware version. Recoding of commands is possible only with the help of a web interface.

Before giving an IR command, make sure a transceiver is in a standby mode, reading a status through OID  .1.3.6.1.4.1.25728.7900.1.3.0

Status value (0) means that an IR transceiver is ready to reproduce an IR command.

To give an IR command, write its number (a cell number of a saved command) into OID .1.3.6.1.4.1.25728.7900.1.1.0

If a transceiver has a status error (255), its reset is performed by recording a value 1 into OID .1.3.6.1.4.1.25728.7900.1.2.0

After reset there is a need to wait for readiness (0), reading a status.

If replaying of an IR command does not break equipment operation logic, then it is better to repeat giving a command 2-4 times, checking readiness before giving a command every time.
