[DKSF 48.2 IU] Page WATCHDOG web interface

This page of a web interface allows to set parameters of a «Watchdog».

«Watchdog» is a specific operation mode of a power supply channel when indicated addresses are permanently (with a specified periodicity) requested by ping (ICMP Echo). If there is no response, a reboot of a device, connected to a power supply socket, is made.

Important! If specified IP addresses are out of IP subnetwork of a device, it is necessary to indicate a gateway address into an external network on a page "Settings".

What is connected (memo) is a relay description, configured on the page “220V Management”.

Polling of Addresses A, B, C is a set of checkboxes that allow to set requested addresses individually.  On default: checkboxes are not checked

Important! If none of checkboxes is checked or IP addresses are not specified for checked checkboxes, polling will not be performed and the mode «Watchdog» will be practically disabled.

Polling of Address A (B,C) is a field for viewing or changing requested addresses. It is possible to indicate IP address as well as a domain name. It is possible to configure up to 3 addresses. An empty field disables requesting.  On default: address is not set

Reset Counter of a channel – this information field shows, how many times a channel was reloaded because of the "Watchdog" actions. A counter does not record the amount of manual reboots. A counter reset happens when turning off Netping power supply.

Ping Polling Period is a field for setting a period of time in which repeated pings are sent to specified IP addresses after receiving a response from them. On default: 10 s.

Ping Timeout is a field for setting a timeout before repeating ping. This value must exceed a usual time of ping response for this network with a certain surplus to avoid false triggering of the WatchdogOn default: 1000 ms.

Number of Unsuccessful Sequential Pings (of the same address), which is considered no response is a field for setting a maximum number of attempts to get a ping response. If a number of attempts is finished, the IP address is considered silent. It is advised to have a period of ping repeats bigger than a ping timeout multiplied by maximum amount of attempts. If this condition is not met, then a new cycle of requesting will be postponed until a specified number of attmepts is over. On default: 8

Reset Duration is a field for setting time for which a device that is connected to a power supply socket is cut off power for its reset and reboot. On default: 4 s.

Ping Polling Pause after Reset is a field for setting time for which ping polling is paused after turning on a power supply socket. The pause is necessary for a device to load, initialize and restore its network interface functions. Otherwise it is possible to get an endless repeating of the Watchdog triggering. On default: 15 s.

Limit Number of Sequential Resets after which polling is stopped is a field for setting a limit number of sequential resets after which the Watchdog mode will be switched to the standby mode for this channel. At the same time polling is continued but a reset of a connected device is not performed. The standby mode ends when there is a response to ping. Value 0 of this parameter disables a limit number for sequential resets. On default: 0.

Reset Polarity is a field, which allows to specify what action must be done to reboot a connected load: «Switch 220V on» or «Switch 220V off» an output socket of a power supply channel. On default: Switch 220V Off

Reset Condition Logic defines when a reboot of a device, connected to a power supply channel, will be performed:

No reply from any of Address (A, B, C) – A connected device would be reloaded even if one of addresses did not respond.

No reply from all Addresses (A, B, C) - A connected device would be reloaded, only if all indicated polling addresses did not respond.

No reply from Address A and from one of В or С - A connected device would be reloaded, if address A did not respond as well as any of addresses B or C, or both B and C.

No reply from Address А, but B or C repliesA connected device would be reloaded only if address A did not respond and any of addresses B or C did respond. I.e. if all addresses do not respond, a reboot of a connected device will not be performed.

Forced Reboot – When clicking the button a single forced reboot of a connected load is performed. Reboot time is set by a parameter «Reset duration». A parameter «Reset mode» determines if there is a need to switch 220 V on or off to reboot a connected load.

After setting all necessary changes, click the button «Apply changes», for a device to perform a command.

If any parameter is set incorrectly, it will be highlighted in red. There is a need to adjust a value of a parameter and click the button «Apply changes» again.
