Agent is a device that is managed or requested via an SNMP protocol. When NetPing SMS receives SMS messages of a certain format, it sends either an SNMP SET command or an SNMP GET request to agent. When receiving SNMP TRAP messages from an agent, Netping SMS sends SMS messages to the specified phone numbers. A list of agents is displayed on the page «AGENTS» as a table. Click the last (empty) line of the table to add an agent. A form of adding a new agent will appear on a screen. A maximum number of agents in a table is 16. Fill in all fields and click the button «Save changes». Short Name – an agent's name, which will be used in SMS messages, it should be no more than 15 Latin letters. Using spaces is prohibited. On default: an empty line. IP or a domain name - is an address of an agent, where SNMP SET commands and SNMP GET requests will be sent. It is possible to indicate a domain name as well as an IP address. It should contain no more than 62 characters. On default: an empty line. Port – is a UDP port of an agent, where an SNMP message will be sent. On default: 161. Community – is used in SNMP packages. It must coincide with Community, configured in an agent. On default: an empty line To delete an agent, click it and click the button «Delete a record» in a window that appeared. Click the agent to change an agent's parameters and edit parameters in a window that appeared. Click the button «Save changes». Click the button "Cancel changes" to cancel an action.
