[ENG] [2PWR,v2SMS] Resetting Parameters to Default Values

Resetting parameters of a device to default values is necessary in the next cases:

  • login and/or password for accessing a web interface of a device is lost;
  • no information about a current IP address of a device;
  • in certain cases after updating firmware of a device

This procedure sets all customizable parameters of a device to default values (IP address, access filters, user name, password and other settings).

To reset parameters to default values, there is a need to consequently perform the next actions (for a NetPing 2/PWR-220 v3/ETH device without a built-in battery):

  • switch off power of a device;
  • press the reset button «Reset»;
  • switch on power of a device keeping the «Reset» button pressed for 15-20 seconds;
  • release the button, all parameters of a device are reset to default values

To reset parameters to default values, there is a need to consequently perform the next actions (for a NetPing 2/PWR-220 v2/SMS device with a built-in battery):

  • press and keep the «Reset» button pressed for more than 5 seconds (use a pen/stilys/pencil, etc.);
  • release the «Reset» button, CPU LEDs near Ethernet ports will blink, all parameters of a device are reset to default values

Short-term clicking the «Reset» button will reboot a device (for a NetPing 2/PWR-220 v2/SMS device with a built-in battery).

On default, a device has the next parameters:

User name: visor

Password: ping

IP address: 192.168.0.100

Subnet mask: 255.255.255.0

Gate (gateway): is not set

SNMPcommunity: SWITCH

MAC address: 00 a2 xx xx xx xx

Here, xx xx xx xx corresponds to a serial number of a device. Therefore, all devices have unique MAC addresses after being manufactured.

After resetting parameters to default values, there is a need to perform an initial configuration of a device – see more detailed description in the document «Firmware description». Where to Get a Document with a Firmware Description?
