To configure SMS notifications about previously specified events, there is a need to go to the page «SMS» of a device web interface:
In the section «Events for SMS Notifications», it is possible to configure:
Switch to backup battery, battery discharge warning – when a device switches to a backup power, an SMS notification will be sent the destination numbers, specified in the section «GSM Setup» on the page «SMS» of a device web interface. Information applies to the device NetPing 2/PWR-220 v2/SMS with a built-in battery.
Ethernet Link Status change – when a specified event takes place, an SMS notification will be sent to the destination numbers, specified in the section «GSM Setup» on the page «SMS» of a device web interface.
Watchdog Reset – if a relay is controlled by the module «Watchdog», an SMS notification will be sent to the destination numbers specified in the section «GSM Setup» on the page «SMS» of a device web interface, when a relay status is changed.
Pinger Event (Loss or Restoration of communication) – when the loss or restoration of the connection of the tested node in the network is discovered, an SMS notification will be sent to the destination numbers, specified in the section «GSM Setup» on the page «SMS» of a device web interface. It is possible to configure addresses for testing the availability of the network nodes via IP address or a DNS name in the fields «Address #1 to ping», «Address #2 to ping» and the polling period in the field «Polling Period, s (30-9999)» in the section «Pinger» on the page «SMS»:
Parameters of the operation of the module «Pinger» on the page «SMS» are as follows:
1. Polling a specified IP address or a DNS name is started once in a specified period of time (a parameter «Polling Period, s (30-9999)»);
2. A period of waiting for a response from an IP address or a DNS name is 2 seconds;
3. The amount of repeats of polling an IP address or a DNS name is 8;
4. If there is no response from a tested node during 8 repeats, «Pinger» notifies that there is no connection with the specified IP address or a DNS name;
5. If during the next polling period there will be a response from a tested node, «Pinger» notifies that there is a connection with the specified IP address or a DNS name
