[ENG] 2.3. [DKSF 70/71.5 IU] I Need to Know Firmware Version, Hardware Version and a Serial Number of a Device

The information on the firmware and hardware versions, as well as a serial number of a device, can be viewed at the home page of a device web interface:

where:

Firmware Version – is a current firmware version, installed on a device.

A firmware version looks like the following DKSF PPP.VV.SS.C-M (for example, DKSF 70.5.2.R-1), where:

  • DKSF – is a special prefix for all firmware of the company NetPing global Ltd;
  • PPP – is a model number of a device, for which firmware is designed.

 Project numbers usually but not necessarily coincide with project number of the hardware platform of a device.

  • VV – is a version number. Versions are numbered starting from 1. A version number is changed to the next one if a significant extending or changing of a functionality happens during its development;
  • SS – is a subversion number. A subversion number is changed at any firmware update, including bug fixes, updating internal modules and optimization;
  • С – is a symbol, indicating the type of the firmware version. R is a stable Russian firmware version, В is a version for testing of the first version of the new firmware. E is a stable version with English interface;
  • М – is a numeric suffix that means a modification (a model) of a device, for which firmware is designed.

Hardware Version – is the PCB version and/or configuration version of the device.

Serial Number – is a unique identification number of a device. It must coincide with a number on a sticker of a device. A serial number of a device cannot be changed.
